We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant in a Canada-based real estate firm. It is a global property investment and development group dedicated to creating inspiring educational spaces that spark innovation and creativity. They are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to support daily finance operations within a collaborative, international team, offering diverse responsibilities and global business exposure.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
- Progress toward professional qualifications such as AAT Level 3 or 4, or early-stage ACCA/CIMA, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing study
- 6 to 18 months of hands-on experience in a finance role, gained through internships, placements, or entry-level positions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables, with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems
- Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving capabilities, and excellent organisational skills
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including supplier setup, weekly payment runs, and invoice generation
- Conduct bank reconciliations and cashbook postings, resolving outstanding items efficiently
- Prepare month-end journal entries for accruals and prepayments, and maintain the fixed asset register
- Support VAT submissions, basic tax reporting, and preparation of audit documentation
- Assist in the production of management accounts, performance dashboards, and variance analysis reports
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities through data gathering and workbook maintenance
- Oversee the finance inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal queries
- Participate in initiatives to enhance internal controls and support small-scale automation projects
