We have an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Construction Project Manager role in a Queens-based Restaurants group. The business supports several restaurant brands to develop the infrastructure required to meet the demands of a growing restaurant franchise organization. An experienced bilingual person with the required knowledge and skill is required for this position.
Job Requirements:
- Outstanding spoken and written Chinese.
- Possess project management expertise and a background in construction.
- A strong background in organizing and carrying out fresh as well as current projects.
- Construction and project management experience of at least 7+ years.
- Any combination of education and experience that equates to a Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a comparable field, as well as 4-6 years of practical experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the procedures involved in managing construction projects, including contracts, budgets, building paperwork, change orders, schedules, RFIs, submissions, and the purchase of materials.
- A 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certification is preferred but is not required.
- Microsoft Office competence (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- Reliable commute, or making relocation plans before starting work.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- 50% of the workday will be spent in the field managing the site and the subcontractors, and the other 50% will be spent in the office helping the project manager.
- Support and handle building management, inspections, and subcontractors with the project supervisor and site foreman.
- Report field operations, inquiries, or issues from the field team to the project manager or design team.
- Organise documents and correspondence to expedite construction.
- As needed, take the lead and give field crews specific instructions.
- Carry out Material Take-offs and Estimates as required.
- Assist in the inspection of ongoing work to ensure that all construction documents and submittals are being followed.
- Assist in the early detection and resolution of field conditions and problem areas.
- Assist in the drafting of information requests and clarification of construction paperwork.
- Assist in the coordination of third-party and outside consultant inspections of construction work and the development site.
