We have an exciting opportunity for an Import Operator in a Camberley based Transportation/Trucking/Railroad company. The firm has been offering customers with easy and efficient business solutions for all international transportation and logistics needs for more than a decade. The company is seeking for Import Operators to support the company's growing business who have the required abilities and expertise to succeed in this position.
Job Requirements:
• Must be able to work in the United Kingdom.
• Have at least 5 years of work experience in shipping industry.
• Sincere, dependable, responsible, and conscientious.
• Must be able to communicate in both English and Mandarin (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be flexible, willing to assist co-workers, and have a strong sense of teamwork.
• Should be able to operate in a fast-paced workplace and prioritise tasks.
• Individual who is enthusiastic and has strong organising and math skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Take care of all forms of business, such as air, sea, road, rail, courier, and cross-border goods, mostly imports from other countries.
• Customers and foreign agencies should be contacted for shipping instructions, as well as a quotation.
• Arrange space with carriers and provide customs brokers instructions.
• Bargaining of rates with carriers and international agencies.
• Oversee the whole transport process and keep clients and foreign agents up to date on shipment status.
• Invoicing sales and follow up on payments.
• Checking costs and approving invoices from vendors.
• Assist sales professionals with client status on a daily basis.
• Ensure during operation, all jobs are entered into BoxTop.
• Observe the company's month-end regulations.
• As part of teamwork, always assist your teammates.
• If feasible, provide backup to the quote team regularly (Import practical work after more than 6 months).
