We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager BD role in Shanghai-based leading e-commerce retailers in China, boasting more than 300 staff members and a significant presence in the United States. The General Manager of BD will play a crucial role in propelling the growth strategy by crafting and implementing plans to pinpoint new market opportunities, cultivate strategic alliances, and broaden influence in both established and developing markets. This position will be vital in enhancing the brand's presence, boosting revenue, and positioning the company as a reliable entity in the e-commerce sector.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
  •  A minimum of five years of experience in business development, sales, or a comparable position within e-commerce or retail industries.
  •  Demonstrated success in market expansion, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
  •  Proven capacity to collaborate with various brands or product lines.
  •  Bilingual proficiency in Chinese/Mandarin is highly preferred.
  •  Strong skills in strategic planning and analysis, with an aptitude for recognizing opportunities and achieving outcomes.
  •  Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  •  Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, digital marketing strategies, and market research methodologies.
  •  Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while managing multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion: Recognize and evaluate emerging market opportunities for affiliated companies.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and cultivate connections with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to improve product offerings, supply chains, and distribution networks.
  • Revenue Growth: Propel revenue through creative sales tactics, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities, while ensuring consistency with financial and operational objectives.
  • Customer and Market Insights: Perform comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities, changing customer preferences, and unexplored market trends.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Partner with senior management to formulate and implement both short-term and long-term business strategies, incorporating defined goals, KPIs, and ROI targets.
  • Product Development Collaboration: Engage in close cooperation with product and marketing teams to ensure product offerings meet market needs and enhance brand positioning on e-commerce platforms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Create metrics to assess the success of business development efforts and deliver regular reports and updates to leadership regarding achievements and obstacles.
